Flavour opened its doors in the summer of 1992 on the balcony of Beach Road.
After acquiring the shop next door in 2000 and knocking through we doubled in size,
allowing us to stock more products and try new brands.
All the staff are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and will try and answer any questions or help out in anyway. We stock everything you need in the way of clothing, footwear and hardware from all major brands including DC, Volcom, Fenchurch, Nike SB and Stussy, for men, women and kid’s.
2004 saw the opening of our second store, located on the main street. It doesn’t stock hardware but still has all the big names in men’s and women’s clothing and footwear.
Last year we were invited to take part in the exciting Lynx 2 project with DC
whereby the store designed an exclusive colour way on the Lynx 2 skate shoe. The
limited edition version included all the usual Lynx 2 features plus a real Cornish
tartan lining, black and white panelling on the heel to represent the Cornish flag
and the shop logos. Only 200 of these were produced and were extremely popular
with everyone (even people from outside of Cornwall), Dan Joyce (Dirty Sanchez) has a pair.
We have also been asked by DVS to design the insoles for a limited run of their Doze shoe. It features a sketch drawing of our skate shop by one our members of staff along with shop logos.
We’ve helped organise competitions at our local skate park (which we were involved in getting built and donated helmets to), also along with DVS and Matix we held the Flavour Big Drop contest in 2006, which has featured on Sky TV. Plans are already in the pipeline for future events/contests. Details of which will be posted on website when finalised. We make regular donations of prizes to local charities and organisations and have also been involved in the organisation of skate film premieres at locations like The Sugar Lounge and Mount Hawke Skate Park.
